Player
The Gandhian nonviolent Civil Resistance in the contest of internal, non-separatist, self-determination.

Organized by ALDE MEPs: Marco Pannella, Marco Cappato, Johan Van Heke The thematic issue of the convention will be: The Gandhian nonviolent Civil Resistance in the contest of internal, non-separatist, self-determination.

This conference will be organized in partnership with the UNPO with an estimated 100 Member delegates who are expected to attend this event envisaged to take place at the European Parliament through sponsorship with the Alliance for Liberals and Democrats for Europe
(ALDE).

The conference will maintain a focus on nonviolent civil resistance under the heading Activating Nonviolence.

A hearing will be held which aims to explore the dynamics of active nonviolence.

Understanding how nonviolent political opposition can be successfully expressed and organized is a central concern in today's International politics.

By listening to both who have succeeded in the past and those who are struggling at present, it is hoped a dynamic and informative picture can be constructed of how such movements succeed, how such movements can be supported, and ultimately develop and understanding of how such movements can contribute to the wider goal of long-term stability through beginning the process of developing democratic institutions.
