A report by the University of Wageningen and FAO on "Edible Insects: Future Prospects for food and feed security" was launched during a high-level meeting on Forests for Food Security and Nutrition (13-15 May).
According to FAO, forests contribute to the livelihoods of more than a billion people, including many of the world’s most vulnerable.
They constitute sources of food, fuel for cooking, fodder for animals and income to buy food.
